The people are the captives in a kind of purgatory, wanting
to be entertained, but ambling by --- encountering a meta creature,
but unable to see, to experience the encounter, the elephant a
metaphor for the divine and how we’ve put it in a cage thereby
alienating ourselves from it, blind to it. all we want is to snap a
picture and move along.
