In the MCA's current presentation of photographs from its collection, Elements of Photography, the first word in the title plays two ways: the featured pieces pin down ever-fluctuating natural elements, water and light, in a range of interesting ways; yet in doing so the artists also draw attention to fundamental aspects and operations of photography — the medium's distinctive elements. Today the exhibition's organizer, Curatorial Assistant Michael Green, leads a tour and talks about works such as Hiroshi Sugimoto's seascapes from the series Time Exposed, and Adam Ekberg's quasi-mystical optic aberrations (also featured at Thomas Robertello Gallery this month). - Karsten Lund
