Laura Fayer's elegant, abstracted landscapes are influenced by the Japanese concept of wabi-sabi (translated roughly as "imperfect, impermanent, and incomplete"), which makes use of rice paper, handmade stencils, and rubber stamps to achieve a distinctive layered effect. (AMM)
